Livery PackagesIf you should have any specific requests for your horse not covered by the livery choices outlined below, please contact us to arrange a more tailored package. Full LiveryOur full retirement livery package starts from just £49.50 per week and includes:
In addition to the above we can arrange light exercise, including in-hand walking, for a small additional fee if required. Grass LiveryUnfortunately, all our grass livery spaces are currently full. However we still have a limited number of full livery spaces available. Rehabilitation LiveryFollowing a number of enquiries recently, we are now offering a Rehabilitation Livery for a range of hoof related problems including laminitis, navicular problems and balance issues. The benefit of the Rehabilitation Livery package at Forest Stables is the Natural Hoofcare Practitioner on-site. As a complementary business to Forest Stables we have a thriving barefoot trimming business called Naturally Barefoot™ - your horse’s hooves can be trimmed as often as required. Certainly in the early stages of any hoof related problems, all horses benefit from trimming little and often, in many cases on a weekly basis. Paying a farrier to visit this often can be prohibitively expensive. Our Rehabilitation Livery starts at £75 per week and as a rough guide a minimum recommended term for a rehabilitation livery would be six weeks . However, please contact us as each problem is specific and a tailored package will be designed to suit the problem. Case Study
Bracken came to us as a retirement livery. His feet were, in our eyes, in terrible condition, he was unable to anything much more than walk. The vet and farrier had done all they could for him and his owner was told that the only option for him was retirement or euthanasia. Fortunately for him (and us!) his owner chose to retire him. This was Bracken’s right fore hoof when he arrived. You can see the unnatural angle of the dorsal wall and the very long heels. Within two days of removing his shoes and doing a natural trim, Bracken was cantering around the field – the first time that he had moved quicker than a walk in years. He has now been barefoot for eight months and is improving with each trim You can see the improvement in the second photo . Yes, it is the same foot! He is now totally happy to walk, trot, canter and even gallop with the other horses, up and down the hills. His condition has vastly improved and we expect to see a bit more improvement yet!
